Dove Springs Swims Nadamos Dove Springs

FORKLIFT DANCEWORKS, AUSTIN TEXAS

Presented on July 12, 13, 14, & 15th, 2018 at Austin’s Dove Springs Pool, the free performance showcased neighborhood residents and pool users alongside Aquatics staff for an audience of 2,000+. Participants and audience alike experienced a joyous celebration of the public gathering space of Dove Springs Pool.

Hobo Salon: Homeward Bound

COHEN NEW WORKS FESTIVAL, AUSTIN TEXAS

A collaboration with Lisa Donato and Roni Chelben. Presented in April 2017. Framed as two interactive phases, The Hobo Salon project invited critical dialogue about the accelerated growth of Austin Texas’ homeless population. The goal of the project is to explore the complexities of class relations while moving often hidden narratives into public consciousness.

Get Sexy, Get Consent

VOICES AGAINST VIOLENCE, AUSTIN TEXAS

Directed an interactive performance that explores what consent means and how we can make sure to get consent. Directed actor/facilitators to lead audience discussions related to sexual consent, safer sex, assumptions about gender/gender roles, and how we have been socialized to think about sex and about consent. Get Sexy, Get Consent is a program of Voices Against Voices and the Counseling and Mental Health Center at UT Austin.

Revolutionary Joy

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AUSTIN TEXAS

A collaboration with Laura Epperson. Presented on April 13, 2018. Co-Facilitated and Co-Designed an afternoon centering healing, laughter yoga (led by Simone Barnes), and revolutionary joy. Inspired by these words of Toni Cade Bombara, "the role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible," our mission was to made ready available joy through creative play, embodiment, ritual, and break down barriers that prevent people from seeing and loving each other.
